Is Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller Promoting Recreational Pot?

I used to be a fan of Sid Miller.  He seemed to be a champion of farmers and ranchers.  Then I got this email from him.  Here are some statements from Sid Miller's email below.

The history of cannabis prohibition reflects the failed alcohol prohibition of the 1920s
It is rooted in a distant history of racism, classism, and an authoritarian desire to control others. It is as anti-American in its origins as could be imaginable.
18 states, including conservative states like Arizona, Montana, and Alaska, have legalized commercial sales to ALL adults.

It sure sounds like he is for legalizing marijuana for recreational use because it is anti-American to make it illegal.  Our RPT platform says this about pot.

227. Marijuana Remains Illegal: We oppose the legalization of recreational marijuana and offer opportunities for drug treatment before penalties for its illegal possession, use, or distribution.

The Republican Party of Texas opposes recreational pot.  Does that make the RPT anti-American because we for the authoritarian desire to control recreational drugs?  Sid Miller seems to say so.  Those are his words, "anti-American."

My brother-in-law was driving me in Portland, Oregon, and bragging about how liberal Oregon is, that recreational pot is legal there.  Then a driver runs a stop sign and my brother-in-law honks the horn and yells, "Damn pot head!"  Stoned drivers are bad drivers.  Obviously, wide spread pot use is contrary to plank 227 of our party platform, but Sid Miller is for it.

I wonder how much money he was paid to become pro-pot.  If you are a volunteer who can track the donations to Sid Miller back to legal marijuana farms or legal marijuana distribution businesses, let me know and tell me how you unraveled the connection.  We need to get better at tracking the money that influences our politicians.

Pot is not the only concern.  Someone with connections to the border patrol told me that Sid Miller supported removing Country of Origin Labeling (COOL) from beef, and now it is easier for Mexican Cartels to sell rustled cattle in the U.S.  Here is a statement from Sid Miller supporting the repeal of County of Origin Labeling:   https://www.texasagriculture.gov/NewsEvents/NewsEventsDetails/tabid/76/Article/3184/Statement-by-Commissioner-Miller-on-Repeal-of-Country-of-Origin-Labeling.aspx

I have always suspected it is money that gives us such crummy leadership within the Texas leadership.  We need to get better at tracing the money.  Maybe Sid Miller and marijuana is a good place to start investigating.  If you find a connection, let me know, please

Subject: It's Time for Cannabis Reform in Texas!

Standing Up for Compassionate Use

Dear Robert,

In a free society, government needs a powerful reason to make something illegal.

Permitting adults to freely enjoy their peaceful choices should always be our first option, unless overwhelming evidence exists to justify restricting those choices.

The history of cannabis prohibition reflects the failed alcohol prohibition of the 1920s, complete with gangs, corruption, and widespread violence against the lives and liberties of American citizens.

When looking back, we can see that this prohibition was not born out of medical data, social data, or fair-minded analysis.

Rather, it is rooted in a distant history of racism, classism, and an authoritarian desire to control others. It is as anti-American in its origins as could be imaginable.

It must end.

Today, 39 states, including solid conservative states like Oklahoma, Utah, and Florida, have legalized cannabis for compassionate use (medical marijuana).

Beyond that, 18 states, including conservative states like Arizona, Montana, and Alaska, have legalized commercial sales to ALL adults.

While I am not sure that Texas is ready to go THERE, I have seen first hand the value of this medicine to our fellow Texans.

The states that have gone before have given us the real world data of the benefits and costs we need to implement good policy here.

I fought hard to legalize hemp farming in Texas, and it has been a great success.

We have a small compassionate use program, but it needs to be expanded and accessible to every Texas with the medical need.

A March UT poll showed 83% of Texans support compassionate use.

Today, I am calling on the Governor and the legislature to keep going down the path they have already started by creating a robust and well-regulated medical marijuana market for every Texan who will benefit from it.

Whether the state should rightly deny ANY Texans access to cannabis remains a question for debate.

That same UT poll shows 60% support for full commercial legalization. I'm certain that conversation will continue.

But on the question of compassionate use, the verdict is in. Today, even 74% of my fellow Texas Republicans support it.

Governor Abbott, members of the Texas legislature
—  It is time to set aside the politics and do what Our Lord calls us to do...

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

— Colossians 3:12

Texas Senator John Cornyn Censured by the Harrison County GOP

HARRISON COUNTY REPUBLICAN PARTY

A Resolution of Censure of U.S. Senator John Cornyn III

WHEREAS, Rule 44 of the Republican Party of Texas allows the party to sanction a Republican office holder who takes three or more actions during a biennium in opposition to the core principles of the Republican Party of Texas; and

WHEREAS, Senator John Cornyn III has demonstrated a pattern of action demonstrably opposed to the first, third, fourth, fifth, seventh, eight, and ninth Core Principles of the Republican Party of Texas (RPT) Platform, by repeatedly voting contrary to these Core Principles, and

WHEREAS, Senator Cornyn, being part of a small contingent of Republican senators who, in opposition to the vast majority of their fellow Republican senators including Senators Cruz, Lee, Kennedy, Paul, and others, repeatedly crossed over to vote with the Democrat majority in procedural (cloture) votes, as well as final votes of confirmation, of at least twelve presidential appointees, including the U.S. Attorney for Minnesota, multiple U.S. District Judges, Director of the Asian Development Bank, a Member of the Federal Election Commission, Undersecretary for Intelligence and Analysis, a U.S. Circuit Judge, and the General Counsel for the Department of the Treasury, and these actions violate the RPT’s third core principle, namely, preserving American and Texas sovereignty and freedom, and

WHEREAS, Senator Cornyn again crossed over with a small contingent, generally of the same Republican senators, to vote with the Democrat majority against a Motion to Proceed to S.Con.Res. 41, which was a concurrent resolution authored by Senator Rand Paul, setting forth the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2023 and setting forth the appropriate budgetary levels for fiscal years 2024 through 2032, and this is a violation of the RPT’s fourth and fifth core principles, namely, limiting government power to what is enumerated, and personal accountability and responsibility, and

WHEREAS, Senator Cornyn was the lead Republican negotiator for a working group made up of 20 Republican, Democrat, and Independent senators, to work on gun control legislation, namely, S.2938, which subsidizes red flag laws, imposes additional restrictions on otherwise legal owners of firearms, expands background checks, and

WHEREAS, Senator Cornyn egregiously violated the RPT’s eighth core principle regarding our right to defend ourselves, and violated the RPT’s first core principle, which reaffirms our fidelity to the founding documents, which include our God-given right to self-defense, codified in the Second Amendment, which prohibits the exact infringements which Senator Cornyn voted for, as he negotiated our rights away to the Democrat Party, and he also violated the RPT’s ninth core principle, which supports a free enterprise society unencumbered by government interference or subsidies, and

WHEREAS, Senator Cornyn, after having betrayed these several Republican principles with this one issue, had the unmitigated temerity to try to convince thousands of Republican delegates at the 2022 RPT convention that he was working to protect the 2nd Amendment, and such subterfuge is a gross violation of the third and the fifth RPT core principles, of preservation of American and Texas sovereignty, and of personal accountability and responsibility, and

WHEREAS, Senator Cornyn’s history of crossing over and voting with the Democrat Party to accomplish their objectives has continued with yet another bill, namely, S.4402, introduced by Senator Cornyn, the text of which is also part of S.4384 by Democrat Senator Chris Coons, with Senator Cornyn and others named on it, which bill on its face seeks to foster increased civic engagement in the educational setting, and appropriates over $6 billion over the next 6 years to fund nonprofits and educational institutions to create and implement programs designed to accomplish those ends, and

WHEREAS, S.4384 authorizes the $6 billion in grant money to be disbursed by the Secretary of the Department of Education, for programs which accomplish the objective of “striking ‘traditional American history, free institutions, or Western civilization’ and inserting ‘American political thought and history, free institutions, the impact of American representative democracy and constitutional democracies globally, or the means of participation in political and civic life,’ and this is clearly an attempt to foster the imposition of critical race theory, and subsidize groups with other such non- or anti-traditional concepts of American exceptionalism, which erodes historically accurate portrayals of America’s foundation on, and contributions to, Western Civilization, and

WHEREAS, the U.S. House introduced this legislation in March 2021, and between the House and Senate there are 5 versions of this bill, but the operative bills are S.4402 by Senator Cornyn and S.4384 by Senator Coons, with Senator Cornyn is a co-sponsor, and with such commitment to this bill by Senator Cornyn, this is clearly a violation of the RPT’s seventh core principle, which calls for an educated population, yet with this bill, and the billions of dollars earmarked for organizations to “educate” children in an alternate version of American history, it is unconscionable to have Republican support, and NOW THEREFORE, BE IT

RESOLVED, that at the duly scheduled meeting held on July 7, 2022, and after having offered Senator Cornyn an invitation and opportunity to speak to these grievances, a quorum being present, and with a vote exceeding two-thirds present and voting, the Harrison County Republican Party does hereby CENSURE Senator JOHN CORNYN III, and be it further

RESOLVED, We request that the State Republican Executive Committee concur in this resolution of censure and impose on Senator John Cornyn III, the full set of penalties provided in Rule 44 of the Rules of the Republican Party of Texas; and be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared and transmitted to the Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas, and be it further

RESOLVED, That we, the Republican Party of Harrison County, in solidarity with Republicans all across both our county and our state, are stridently opposed to Senator Cornyn’s continued defamation of Republican principles, and we hereby demand his immediate resignation from the U.S. Senate for his faithlessness to our party and our principles, and be it further

RESOLVED, That we strongly encourage our fellow Republican Party County Executive Committees, Auxiliaries, and conservative groups across the state of Texas to pass this, or a similar resolution, in demonstration of the widespread dissatisfaction with Senator Cornyn’s lack of fidelity to our founding principles, our national and state constitutions, and the Republican Party of Texas, and to express the solidarity of Republicans statewide, in opposition to his continued status as our elected Senator.

Cornyn's Gun Control Bill is More Wicked than Most People Understand

I have been studying Senator John Cornyn's gun control bill, S.2938, the "Bipartisan Safer Communities Act".  I have not seen anyone write about the biggest danger to our country that is buried inside this betrayal.  Some of the problems with this bill are part of a slow acting cancer that has been attacking our country for almost 100 years.  This bill is very dangerous and it was passed so quickly that we could not read S.2938 until it was already passed.

Here are the points I will lay out for you.  (1)  The great speed with which this bill was passed is an indication that this bill is both sneaky and dangerous. (2)  This bill is a sneak attack on our children.  (3)  Our children have been under attack for a long time and we have not been protecting them.

(1) Why So Fast?

Let's put this bill in historical context.  I think you will all remember Nancy Pelosi's famous statement that Congress needed to pass Obama Care in order to discover what was in the bill.  You can watch her say it  here, "But we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it..."   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QV7dDSgbaQ0

Do you remember in 2008 that Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, former head of Goldman Sachs, permitted Wall Street financiers to run amok with sub-prime mortgages and wreck the world economy?  Not only were Americans hurt by the sub-prime mortgage collapse, but banks around the world collapsed and the entire nation of Iceland went bankrupt.  Does the American press remind you that Wall Street financiers are a threat to the entire world?  Or are they busy denying that Biden stole the 2020 election?  The point is that there was a concern the entire world economy was going to collapse, so Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson threatened Congress with Martial Law if they did not pass the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) without really understanding it:  https://apjjf.org/-Peter-Dale-Scott/3010/article.html

I believe the very first time Congress passed an important bill without reading it was the Emergency Banking Act of 1933.  The administration of FDR refused to print a copy of the bill so that Congress could read it.  FDR was sworn in on March 4, 1933 and the bill was passed March 9, 1933, five days after FDR took office.  Congress was told the American economy would collapse if this bill was not passed quickly, which was ridiculous because the Great Depression had been going on for years.  There was sneaky stuff in this "emergency" bill.  Here is what William Manchester writes about this bill in "The Glory and the Dream, vol. 1", pp. 93-94:  "It was, in fact, a shocking measure, ratifying all acts 'heretofore or hereinafter taken' by the President and the Secretary of the Treasury."

Another bad bill that was passsed quickly was the Tonkin Bay Resolution.  On August 2 and 4, 1964, there were false reports made about North Vietnamese attacks on U.S. destroyers in the Gulf of Tonkin.  On August 7, 1964 LBJ had the Tonkin Bay Resolution passed which sent us to war in Vietnam and cost over 58,000 Americans their lives.  Our Congressmen should have this tattooed onto their arms:  "Fast bills are bad bills."

(2) The Poison Inside the Bill

Now that  S.2938 has finally been published we first notice that the bill was originally created to rename a couple of Federal buildings.  When I first heard that the bill was numbered S.2938, I was confused because when I looked at it, I could only see buildings being renamed.  Notice than an amendment can completely change a bill.  Remember this and know that an Article V convention can take the entire U.S. Constitution and replace it with a new progressive constitution and call the replacement an amendment.  Amendments can be deceptive, and no one is better at deception than the Democratic Party.

Look at the text of the bill and I will show you the poison:  https://www.congress.gov/bill/117th-congress/senate-bill/2938/text

Here is the poison no one is talking about:  Mental health services for the children.

The poison is in pushing Federal mental health tentacles into our public schools.  Remember that once you take Federal money, your Federally funded school programs are ultimately under the control of Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi.  You might love your children, but do you really think the Federal government loves your children and wishes them well?

The poison inside S.2938 is that progressives can use Federally funded mental health clinics inside the schools in order to separate our children from their classmates and then pervert them on a one-on-one basis without any knowledge by the parents on how their children are being manipulated and twisted.  Your children will be alone and defensless with so called mental health specialists.

Look at the bill:  Title I: Children and Family Mental Health Services, and Section 11003, Supporting Health Care Services in Schools.  To fully understand this threat, you should watch the film called "The Mind Polluters".

About one hour into the documentary you will learn that the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) has a program called "Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child (WSCC)"

https://www.cdc.gov/healthyschools/wscc/index.htm

This program was under discussion back in 2015:  https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/26440819/

The CDC has put a lot of time and effort and money into this program

The CDC has for years been planning to put mental health facilities into our schools.

We all know with COVID that the CDC is corrupt and incompetent.  When the Germans had a test for COVID, the CDC ignored the test from the super-competent Germans and instead developed their own test that failed.  The CDC abandoned its mission and let the incompetent and dishonest hack Dr. Fauci at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) kill untold thousands of people with deadly and ineffective "treatment" with remdesivir.

The CDC has been taken over by left wing political hacks who focus on politics instead of medicine.  The CDC is part of the anti-gun lobby, as you can see by visiting their anti-gun webpage:  https://www.cdc.gov/violenceprevention/firearms/index.html

The CDC should be defunded and shutdown, but our very own Texas U.S. Senator John Cornyn has provided funding to give your children over to this dishonest, scheming, and corrupt institution.  This is the poison inside John Cornyn's betrayal.  While we are distracted fighting the red flag laws, the political hacks inside the CDC will getting their hands on our children and further poisoning their minds and indoctrinating them into the left wing agenda.

(3) The Long Lasting Campaign Against Our Children

Collectivism is a progressive political philosophy.  Collectivists will tell you that you have no rights except those granted to you by the state.  Progressives have been working on programming our children for many years.  What does mental health have to do with progressive education?  Bear with me a little longer.  This is complicated and goes back about a hundred years.

The evidence is that the elitists who run the Deep State look at your children as pawns to be programmed to serve the collective.

You should know that the founder of progressive education in America was John Dewey.  Here are a few words describing Dewey from this article:

https://www.theepochtimes.com/how-john-dewey-used-public-education-to-subvert-liberty_3116181.html

Dewey wanted to fundamentally transform the United States. He wanted it to look more like the Soviet Union, in fact. To do that, he believed a total transformation of education and society was required—literally “changing the conception of what constitutes education,” as he wrote in “The Relation of Theory to Practice in Education” in 1904.  Education must bring about a “new social order,” he argued.  As was the case with virtually all of the key figures involved in the government takeover of education, Dewey rejected Christianity and even the very existence of God.

John Dewey was a Marxist who traveled to Mexico to meet with Leon Trotsky:

https://publicseminar.org/2014/03/john-deweys-encounter-with-leon-trotsky/

You should already know that our children are under spiritual assault with racist bigotry called Critical Race Theory (CRT), under spiritual assault with anti-American propaganda called the 1619 Project, and under spiritual assault with the promotion of sex, pornography, and transgenderism.

As far back as the 1950's, under Eisenhower, schools have been abandoning teaching facts and skills and have focused on indoctrinating children in an effort to promote social skills.  Here is a quote from page 960 of "The Glory and the Dream, vol.2" by William Manchester:  "Some parents objected.  They wanted to bring back Latin, chemistry, integral calculus -- courses that colleges and universities wanted.  Smiling principals shook thier heads and replied, 'We teach the child, not the subject.' "

The educational debacle was so bad that children could no longer be successfully taught to read, leading to the ground breaking 1955 book, "Why Johnny Can't Read" by Rudolph Flesch.  In 1957 Sputnik so embarrassed America that Eisenhower had passed the National Defense Education Act of 1958 to try and improve education.

To this day "educators" are more interested in promoting Social and Emotional Learning along with a host of left wing political propaganda.  CRT and pornography in the schools have finally awakened enough parents to lead to protests and contested school board elections.  The problem of progressive educators working to brainwash our children has been going on for a very, very long time and some parents are only now waking up to problems in our schools.  The move by John Cornyn to push our children into mental health counseling inside the schools, orchestrated by left wing political hacks inside the CDC, could be the tipping point where morality and decency is finally destroyed in America.

Remember that John Adams said that, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious People. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”  Bad schools, propagandizing our children into left wing beliefs, are an existential threat to our Constitution, our country, and our whole way of life.

Thank you, John Cornyn, for giving the left one more weapon to destroy our country.

And thank you, my reader, for your patience with this complicated problem.

Reviving this Blog to Share Information

 Dear Friends and Neighbors,

I used this blog long ago when I ran for the PISD Board. For a couple of years now I have become involved as a Republican volunteer.  When I ran for school board, as far back as 2006, I had no contact with the Republican Party.  Since then I have volunteered to be a precinct chair.

I am retired now and have more time to research what is happening in local politics.  What I have discovered is that Collin County voters do not know what is going on in local affairs unless they talk with knowledgeable precinct chairs.

When I ran for the PISD board, some of my opponents copied what I put on my website and put my ideas on their websites so the voters could not see the difference.  So you cannot go to a candidate's website and really learn about the candidate.  Newspapers are owned by wealthy people who use their papers to manipulate elections by manipulating the facts available to their readers.  We cannot trust the press.  Our elected officials are frequently untruthful.  You have to go to many political meetings to see your elected officials changing their story depending on the audience.

I spend a lot of time communicating with people.  I hope this blog will help me reach more people more effectively.  I hope to help disperse the fog of deception that surrounds us in politics.  And I hope to share useful information and ideas with you to empower you to be a well informed voter.  You cannot be well informed if all you do is watch TV.

Thank you for your time,

Robert Canright

Collin County, Texas, Republican Precinct Chair

The statements I make here are my own opinions and do not represent the views of the Collin County Republican Party, the Republican Party of Texas, nor the Republican National Committee
