The Primary Election

Dear Friends,

On Tuesday February 17 we start with early voting for our Primary election. I am only going to address the Republican ballot.  I'll offer some suggestions for voting and then some info on the elections data.

If you are in Frisco, their city election is in May.  More info here:  https://www.friscotexas.gov/672/Elections

To be quick, here's how I am going to vote.  I live in HD66 (House District) in Plano.  My HD66 state representative is unopposed so I do not have to vote for him.  There are many people who are either unopposed or have no serious opposition so I skip those races

Here's my voting list

Senator:  Ken Paxton
Congress, CD4:  Pat Fallon
Governor: Pete “Doc” Chambers
Lt. Governor: Dan Patrick
Attorney General:  Mays Middleton
Comptroller:  Don Huffines
Commissioner of Agriculture: Sid Miller
Railroad Commissioner:  Bo French
Court of Criminal Appeals Place 3:  Brent Coffee
Court of Criminal Appeals Place 9:  John Messinger
Justice of the Peace, Precinct 4:  Judge Vincent Venegoni (this race is important)
Vote yes on all the propositions
The propositions are from the Republican Party of Texas.  They want to know what you think on these matters.  The propositions are like an opinion poll.

Ken Paxton is a deeply flawed person, but I think he was a good Attorney General and can be a good U.S. Senator.

For U.S. Congress
If you are in CD3:  vote for Keith Self
Like me, you might have been re-districted away from CD3 to CD4.
CD32:  JACE YARBROUGH

Depending on where you live:
Justice of the Peace, Precinct 1:  C.D. Mayfield
Justice of the Peace, Precinct 3: DANIELLE SPOSITO

In South Plano,
COUNTY COMMISSIONER PRECINCT 4:  WOODY HUFFINES
STATE REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT 70:  MICHAEL HEWITT

In McKinney
STATE REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT 61:  KERESA RICHARDSON
STATE REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT 67:  MATT THORSEN

In Allen
STATE REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT 89:  JEFF FORRESTER

South and East of us:
STATE SENATOR, DISTRICT 2:  BOB HALL

In Denton County, HD106:  Lt. Col. Larry Brock

There are a number of Republican Precinct Chair (PC) positions up for a contested vote.
Look at your ballot.  If you have a PC choice, reach out to me and I can provide some guidance to you.
